One of the most memorable parts from our latest trip to Cairns was visiting Green Island! This beautiful spot is home to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and lies just offshore from the mainland. It’s easy to gauge why people love this spot so much. This island is popular for its beautiful rainforest since it is the only coral cay in the Great Barrier Reef that has one growing on it! The abundant plant life and tropical trees make up the lush green landscape, and is surrounded by a soft, white and sandy coastline.
But, the island is just as beautiful under water as it is on land! Grab some snorkelling or diving gear and explore the marine world. You’ll feel like you’re in another world while swimming amongst the coral reef and marine life.
