After our Sunset Ranch horse ride we decided to walk back to the main streets rather than grabbing an Uber. It’s always nice to walk through a new city, you see so much more and I find it far more engaging.

As the sun started to drop, so did the temperature. So there was only one thing to do. COFFEE! I wasn’t looking for anything exquisite, just a simple cafe to grab a coffee and warm up a little. The Beachwood Cafe was located on the street, and without a second thought I walked in.

It felt like I had been transported back in time to a Hollywood rat pack fuelled era. With Laurence of Arabia playing on the projector and distinctively retro furniture surrounding, I ordered a coffee and some food, not expecting too much. To my surprise, the atmosphere was addictive, and when the food arrived I was gobsmacked, it was incredibly authentic American diner food and it left me craving more at the end.

If you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend going (during the day) and grabbing a burger or toasted sandwich.

You can thank me later.
