The next stop in my Bali adventure took me to the lush beachfront sanctuary that is the Melia. Located right on the beach in Nusa Dua, this enormous resort is more than 10 hectares of picturesque tropical gardens with a never-ending lagoon winding throughout. It felt like a private paradise that I never wanted to leave. We were lucky enough to stay in one of the garden villas which was like our own little house inside the resort.
Fully equipped with a private pool, two super relaxing cabanas and even a melon engraved with my name. Yes, my surname. One very dedicated Melia team member engraved M U E H L E N B E C K on a fruit!! Crazy. It’s these incredible details that really make holiday memories! Haha I found the Melia to be a perfect mix between luxury and fun. One moment I’m in awe at the impeccable fine-dining presentation of my scrambled eggs and the next minute I’m riding a monster bicycle along the sand!
The Melia is like a great little community that has everything you need right there. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and recharge. One of the things that really sets the Melia apart in my opinion is their environmental endeavours. It is the first hotel in Asia to be awarded the EarthCheck Platinum distinction for its environmental management and social sustainability. Which is really cool. We need proactive action if we want to keep enjoying this tropical paradise. Big thumbs up!
